We invite you to enter a new, safe place to interact with art and feel connected.
MSME (pronounced “Miss Me”) is a brand new interactive museum destination in Santa Barbara, perfect for exploring the next generation of media arts.
Interact with your body and senses — view light shows with friends, experience it on a date night, or bring the family to this energy-filled mecca of interactive art and kinetic wonder.
Most of the artworks are designed for interaction from a distance, by moving the body. The community can experience it together while being safely apart, and feel connected through the imagery and sound.
At MSME, we believe in the power of art and the body’s movement. The experiences inside are primarily created by Santa Barbara media artists – raised locally, or transplants, or alumni of UCSB’s Media Arts & Technology program. We envisioned a magical space, which we have sought to create.
As the world changes, so does art. But a creative community will stay constant. We invite you to enter a new, safe place to interact with art and feel connected.
The Museum of Sensory & Movement Experiences is part of The Arts Fund, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to fostering the arts for the people of Santa Barbara County.
MSME operates under The Arts Fund’s Community Gallery program, which showcases work from emerging and mid-career artists, as well as artists in the Arts Fund’s Teen Arts Mentorship Program. Make sure to visit our Community Gallery adjacent to MSME, where we feature different shows throughout the year, organized through our Guest Curator program.
100% of the proceeds from every MSME ticket go to benefit future Arts Fund programming—Community Gallery shows, Teen Arts Mentorships, public art installations and the Arts Fund Art Walk.
